With the ability to drive 15 LS-TTL loads, this device is well-suited for interfacing with bus lines in a bus organized system. The positive edge triggered flip-flops ensure that data at the D inputs is effectively transferred to the Q outputs on positive transitions of the CLOCK (CK) input, while meeting the setup and hold time requirements. Furthermore, the 3-STATE feature and large output drive capability make these devices versatile and functional. When a high logic level is applied to the OUTPUT CONTROL (OC) input, all outputs go to a high impedance state, regardless of the signals present at the other inputs and the state of the storage elements.
