According to DRAMeXchange research, NAND Flash industry revenue performance in the third quarter of 2019 benefited from the year-end sales season and increased demand for pre-stocking in response to the us-china trade conflict, which spurred overall bit shipments to grow nearly 15 percent.

On the other hand, under the improvement of supplier inventory level, the strength of low price on Wafer market was restrained, which led to the convergence of decline in contract price. The industry revenue in the third quarter grew to 10.2 percent, reaching about $11.9 billion.

Looking forward to the fourth quarter of 2019, the recovery of contract price Kioxia after the power jump incident at its plant in shikigata city, together with the recovery of market demand in peak season, will help improve the profit performance of various suppliers.

Samsung

Continuation of the server, mobile devices, the advantages of high capacity products with Intel's new platform and launch the second half of the year many flagship machine, samsung shipment bits in the third quarter from the second quarter growth of more than 10%, KuCunShui is located in the third quarter to achieve smooth, convergence to the average sales price fell 5%, revenue reached $3.987 billion, up 5.9% from the second quarter.

From the analysis of production capacity, samsung still planned to reduce the 2D NAND product of Line12 quarter by quarter according to the original plan, and maintain the same 3D NAND projection scale while continuing to turn into the new manufacturing process. In terms of new capacity, xi 'an phase ii is still scheduled to start production in the first half of 2020, while pingze ii is scheduled to start operation in the second half of next year.

SK Hynix

After the significant 40% growth in the second quarter of bit shipment, SK Hynix's bit shipment slowed down slightly in the third quarter, with a quarterly decrease of 1%. However, benefiting from the gradual stability of the price and the decline in the proportion of Wafer product sales, the average sales unit price increased by 4% compared with the previous quarter, making the overall NAND Flash revenue reach $1.146 billion, with a quarterly growth of 3.5%.

In terms of capacity planning, affected by the reduction of 2D NAND capacity, the overall capacity of SK Hynix shows a quarterly decline this year, while the mainstream 3D NAND is slightly expanded, and the new capacity is mainly set at M15.

Kioxia

Despite the impact of the power outage at the daikon plant, digit shipments rose more than 20 percent from the previous quarter, helped by a surge in demand during the peak season and the availability of new apple devices, but overall revenue rose 14.3 percent to $2.227 billion as average unit sales dropped about 5 percent.

From the perspective of production capacity, although the factory has resumed full operation, this year's output growth has been lower than other competitors. In terms of 2020 planning, the K1 plant in iwate was completed in October and is expected to provide output in the first half of 2020 at the soonest, which will help the market share of bit output return to the pre-electric jump level

(Note: since October 1, 2019, Toshiba Memory has officially changed its name to Kioxia, and the organization has updated all relevant information accordingly).

Western Digital

Driven by peak season demand, the third quarter of western digital unit delivery performance increased by about 9%, while the average sales unit price also stopped falling due to the power jump incident and increased demand in the four-day city, driving the third quarter revenue to $1.632 billion, up 8.4% from the previous quarter.

From the perspective of capacity planning, after the power failure of the factory in shikigawa city, the production line has been gradually restored since mid-july. The latest statement about capacity loss is 4 Exabytes. In the new production line segment, western digital invested us $64 million in the iwate K1 plant in the third quarter, which is expected to provide BiCS4 or more advanced process outputs from 2020.

Micron

Revenue from NAND Flash rose 4.7 percent to $1.53 billion in the third quarter from the previous quarter, based on growing shipments of mobile devices and a surge in client stocking. In terms of zanyuan shipment, due to customers transferring orders in July and August, this quarter saw a growth of more than 10%, but the average sales unit price still dropped more than 5% in the quarter.

On the production side, micron's new Singapore plant, announced in August, will help with the transition to the new process structure, while other capacity in Singapore and Manassas have not changed much

Intel

Intel benefited from significant growth in Enterprise SSD and Client SSD shipments in the third quarter, with bit shipments up more than 50 percent in the quarter. On the other hand, even if customers adopt more new processes and high-volume products, the average unit price still falls by more than 10%.Overall, revenue came to $1.29 billion, up 37.2 percent from the previous quarter.

In terms of capacity, Intel's dalian plant will maintain its original capacity until the end of the year and has not yet mentioned plans to increase production by 2020.
